Snarl/Power Wrench/Spitback - Split

POWER WRENCH/SNARL/SPITBACK SPLIT cover art
From:  California (Snarl) | Michigan (Spitback & Power Wrench)
Genre: Hardcore

Track List
1. Snarl - Lust
2. Snarl - The Fuse
3. Snarl - The View (Carry On Cover)
4. Spitback - Hammer
5. Spitback - Cold Love
6. Spitback - Just Realize
7. Power Wrench - Set You Straight
8. Power Wrench - Suffer Into Me
9. Power Wrench - Mr. Sam

I first heard both Snarl and Power Wrench before learning that they are the side projects of Parker Cannon (The Story So Far) and Mat Kerekes (Citizen). Because of this, I was able to go into their previous works without any sort of bias. I do honestly enjoy both of their more popular bands, but they luckily didn't hold any influence over either of the side projects on this split. I don't know anything about Spitback, but I think they really were a good addition to this split. Snarl is very aggressive and forward with their three short tracks, and with a Carry On cover, they could do no wrong. Spitback takes the same approach, straight forward, pissed off hardcore. Power Wrench, on the other hand, is doing something different. Longer, groove oriented, filled with chunky bass and guitar/vocal effects. They are definitely pulling their influences directly from 90's bands like Rage Against The Machine and the Beastie Boys without trying to sound like they are a blatant Turnstile ripoff.

From: Western Massachusetts
Genre: Powerviolence / Hardcore

Track List
1. No More
2. Entitled
3. Swallowed Whole
4. Sick Reality
5. Lemmings

Infest/Neanderthal powerviolence with mosh parts. My only complaint is that
the demo only lasts a little over 2 minutes, but what else do you expect out of a
Powerviolence demo? A band every powerviolence connoisseur will
come to know in due time.
